March brought various newsworthy projects to both of our sites in Edenbridge and Uckfield. Find out more about the different projects that our divisions were working on this month.
This project spanned across two of our divisions – Alexir International and Alexir Packaging.
Alexir International sourced new packaging for Flower and White’s Meringue Bites and Bars. Flower and White had 2 requirements – improve print quality and to use a more durable material to minimise wastage on their production line. With these requirements in mind, Alexir International sourced a paper + PE film material which was stronger, fully recyclable and enabled a higher print quality.
Alexir Packaging printed and produced cartons for Flower and White’s Meringue Kisses. These cartons needed to be printed with 3 different print designs and have consistent colours that matched their Meringue Bites and Bars packaging.
As both Alexir Packaging and Alexir International worked on this project, it was vital that they managed not only the substrates used but also the suppliers and use of colours across the various print processes and materials.
Alexir Digital were approached by a company managing the launch of VFC (Vegan Fried Chick*n) to print their vibrant and impactful Chick*n Fillets cartons and Bites & Fries sleeves.
Recyclability was a big factor for VFC as their motto is big on taste, big on impact and therefore, they wanted to extend their planet-friendly rebellion to their packaging. Alexir Digital printed the card sleeves and cartons using board which is 100% recyclable aiding VFC’s mission.
Alexir Digital provided quick turnarounds as demand for VFC products have been high since they launched in December 2020. The project was a success as an additional 4 orders have been placed.
Savoursmiths were approached by British Airways to feature on their Speedbird Café Menu, however, Savoursmiths were yet to pack their crisps into a carton. The brand owners had seen our work for other customers in the travel industry and came to us looking for help.
Alexir Creative took on the project with our constructional designers sampling some pack formats that worked for the tight confines of an aircraft whilst keeping the contents inside protected. Once the constructional style was agreed, our graphic designers transferred and adapted the graphic assets to the new pack format.
Finally, Alexir Packaging printed and assembled the cartons. It is now successfully included in the new Cafe Menu.
