New year, new projects! Here is a quick summary of what we were up to in the first month of 2022.
Last year, four of our divisions worked together on a very exciting project to bring authentic Caribbean streetfood into the home. Two kits were created – the Wrap kit and the Meal kit – under the brand name Irie Eats. The cartons were designed by Alexir Creative and manufactured by Alexir Packaging. Meanwhile, Alexir International designed and sourced the corrugated trays for distribution.
To complete the project, the packing teams at Alexir Co-Packers hand-assembled and filled each carton, sealed the pack and placed them into the corrugated trays for delivery. The entire project was managed by Cyril Guillemart, Business Development Manager at Alexir. Cyril dealt with the design, manufacture, and packing, helping to simplify the process for the customer by only having one point of contact.
County Bridge has launched a fresh meat line into SPAR stores using our Skinpack trays. This is an exciting change in the convenience sector as, on average, our Skinpack trays reduce the amount of plastic by at least 70%.
Even better, consumers are able to easily detach the film lid from the tray and place each piece of packaging in separate waste streams. The board tray is 100% recyclable as it has less than 15% of plastic in the base film, which creates the hermetic seal with the film lid.
What makes our Skinpack stand out:
✔ It doesn’t need gluing which makes it more environmentally-friendly.
✔ It is made from one piece of card which makes it easier for the skinning process and to remove the base film. Also there is much less board wastage.
✔ There are no seams on the base which is better for branding and mandatory information.
Recently, our Digital department produced these beautiful cartons for Steep Tea. Located in the South West, Steep Tea is a supplier of specialty teas to coffee shops, cafes, farm shops and delicatessens, as well as online.
Steep Tea is passionate not only about great tea but also nature and the environment, therefore, it was imperative that their tea packaging was free from plastic and recyclable.
To celebrate Lunar New Year, our International department sourced this beautiful rigid box for Whittard of Chelsea. Featured in their Chinese New Year of the Tiger Tea Gift Set, this premium rigid box has an insert to hold a Tea Caddy and Gold Tea Scoop.
At the beginning of the project, Whittard provided our International department with an open brief. The only requirements were that the rigid box needed to hold the Tea Caddy and Tea Scoop. In response to this, our International department sourced this magnificent rigid box with a memorable gold ribbon opening.
